Bulk Taco Seasoning Mix

When I was a kid, I remember my mom making tacos and seasoning the meat with that little packet of taco seasoning. I still see them in the grocery store aisle, and I admit I used to use them myself. But I really didn’t like the ingredients in them. Many brands have MSG, preservatives, added sugars, corn starch, and other ingredients that simply aren’t necessary.

Now that I have a family of 9, we’re also making taco meat in a higher quantity, so it’s simply easier to have a bulk taco seasoning mixed up in the pantry with clean ingredients. Mix this up, store it in a quart jar, and use 1-2 tbsp of seasoning mix and 3/4 cup of water per 1 pound of browned ground beef. Let it simmer until most of the water boils out, and you’re ready to serve!
